1. To pay JVS the sum of $465 for every cycle the mare is inseminated. This payment covers all the ultrasound
examinations for the purpose of monitoring follicular development and uterine health, pharmaceuticals used to
induce ovulation and to manipulate the reproductive cycle of the mare, vaginal and cervical examinations, and
ultrasound pregnancy diagnosis. The sum of $465 is due at the time of the mare's arrival to JVS.
2. To pay for all extra costs for any non-routine therapy deemed necessary for proper breeding management such
as swabs, biopsies, surgeries, twin reduction, long-term hormonal therapies, sedation, and any cost incurred
to treat and maintain the health of the mare.
3. To pay board for the mare at (a) $15 per day, or (b) $18 per day if the mare has a foal, or (c) $20 per day
if the mare requires special care such as daily hand walking, blankets, bandages, individual turn out, or daily
grooming. A deposit of $200 is due at the time of the mare's arrival to JVS.
4. To pay all charges incurred in shipment of semen, and the return of semen shipping containers.
5. While the mare is under the management of JVS, the mare owner agrees to pay for any vaccinations, deworming,
hoof trimming or shoeing.
6. The mare owner hereby releases and shall indemnify and hold JVS harmless from any claim of disease, injury
or death to the mare, her foal, or the in utero foal arising from any undertaking by JVS under the terms of
this provision.
7. The mare owner is responsible for any insurance desired on the mare, foal, in-utero foal, and stallion semen
stored.
8. JVS will monitor the mare and her reproductive cycle in order to attempt breeding the mare at the best time
possible to maximize the odds of conception. The mare owner is aware that in occasions some mares will ovulate
unexpectedly and an ovulation can be missed. JVS shall not be held liable for missing an ovulation and / or not
breeding the mare on one particular cycle. The mare owner does not have to pay for a new cycle unless the mare
was inseminated. In addition, a mare can fail to ovulate in time after being inseminated, and a new insemination
in the same cycle might be necessary. JVS shall not be held liable for the costs of extra semen needed on mares
that have delayed ovulations.
9. All accounts are payable within 30 days. After 30 days from billing date, a $25 handling fee and interest of
1.5% per month on the outstanding balance will be assessed. The mare owner agrees to pay all costs and reasonable
attorney fees incurred by JVS in attempting to collect any outstanding balance. This contract is not
transferrable. If the mare is sold, all unpaid fees become immediately due and payable and no refunds will be
made. This agreement is subject to Canadian law and the laws of the province of Ontario. The venue for any
disputes arising from this agreement will be in the City of Kitchener, Ontario.
10. There is no guaranty of pregnancy.
11. As per paragraphs 1 and 3, a total deposit of $665 plus GST ($465 for the veterinary work and $200 for board)
